Hand Painted Christmas Cups/Mugs

Hello! Just a quick note to say that I am currently working on the decoration of porcelain cups/mugs! They have a Christmassy theme and I hope to be able to promote them for this holiday season. They will make great and sweet little presents, something original and hand-made! My idea is to present them in a cute cellophane gift bag closed at the top with a piece of red ribbon; I am also looking to add something inside the cups, something nice and tasty!! But I don’t want reveal what yet! Keep reading this blog and you’ll find out!!!

I am due to take few cups to a shop interested in stocking them! And soon they will also be available for purchase online, from my site:, where it will be completely easy and safe to shop from, as each transactions will be processed using PayPal. Alternatively, if you cannot wait :@) I have recently opened an Etsy shop: with few things already for sale there – including the cups. Keep checking it as I will update it with new entries soon.

This is all for now!

Painting of a Waterfall

This painting is part of an assignment I have recently finished; it was commissioned as a wedding gift.

The customer who asked me to paint this piece, had just been on holiday with a friend – the one that is actually due to be getting married – to Iceland; it was while on vacation that they took this picture of a waterfall.

The client instructed me to paint an oil painting based on their photograph on a 100 cm x 100 cm canvas - I must admit, it was a really nice size to work with, and I am very pleased with how the artwork turned out, although I am not sure the image actually gives it justice. The customer also seems to be pleased with the painting! This was his comment: “ The painting is brilliant & just what I envisaged”. I am very happy he likes it. It is very important for me to meet my clients wishes and expectations.

The original photo, as it was taken in a cloudy day, was a little bit dark, so, I tried brighting it up a little by adding the flowers in the foreground and some touches of colour.

Hello Everybody

Hi! I would like to introduce my latest venture: JArt Studio-Gallery, which, as the name implies, it’s a charming combination of an art studio and gallery. It is the place where I paint, create, run art classes/workshops and also where I exhibit my work, and soon, also the artwork of other emerging artists.

The range of pieces produced and displayed at JArt Studio-Gallery varies in style, medium genre and subject; artworks include painting, portraits, craftwork and photography - other artworks such as mirrors, lamps and hand-made jewellery, will soon also be featured online and at the gallery.

So far, opening my own studio/gallery has been an exiting, at times difficult, but also really fun and rewarding experience. I have worked hard to turn this once unloved, empty and unused shop into the cute place it is now! And I am quite proud of it!

The things I enjoy the most about my new job :@) are the art classes & the workshops – I love teaching people art, I can feel their enthusiasm and it is really interesting for me to see how everybody is different, how each of us has got different ideas, tastes, styles etc...But I also enjoy painting, working on commissions, and dealing with other interesting and talented artists! Overall, I like the whole package. However, I can say that my working hours are pretty full, and it is really hard to switch off; But I’m not complaining!! :@)

The reason I decided to start this blog is to share my experience with people interested in following my venture, finding out about events, emerging artists and keep up to date with new exiting artworks.

I think that this is all for now!
Until the next time…
